What's in Your Bag?

So, I am admittedly a serious slacker when it comes to blogging. I have a hard time sitting down and focusing on writing a real post, my mind is typically going in about a million directions at once. And now? It's even worse because I'm in the middle of the holiday craft fair season (aka total chaos). But..I had to do this. Roo over at is having a contest called "What's in Your Bag?" It's awesome. It gives all of us a chance to take a peak inside the purses of other amazing women...come on, you know you want to! :) You can participate in the contest as well, just post the contents of your purse on your own blog and share the link with her or post directly on Roo's contest post.

Go here!

Without further ado, here's mine!
For the record, I have way too much stuff in my purse. But it’s at least sort of organized because of the design of the purse…or at least I attempt to organize it..lol :)

Summer Sunshine Giveaway!

Since I don't have any followers yet, and am working on different ways to promote my shops, I've decided to do a Summer Sunshine themed giveaway. The contest will run through Monday, June 20th, and the winner will be drawn on the 21st, which just so happens to be the first day of summer :)

I'm giving everyone lots of chances to win, and here's where I break it down for you -

(1) Entry if you "like" my shop facebook page - www.facebook.com/sweetpeatreasuresjewelry

--leave a comment saying that you have "liked" it (even if you did a while ago, it still counts!) and what your name on fb is that you used to "like" it.

(2) Entries if you heart my Etsy shops (1 per shop) - http://www.sweetpeatreasures.etsy.com/ & http://www.sweetpeatreasurestoo.etsy.com/ . Please be sure to let me know what your Etsy user name is.

(2) Entries if you tell me what your favorite item from each of my shops is (1 per shop).

(1) Entry for following this blog!

That's potentially 6 entries if you go for everything! Now why would you bother to do all of that? Here are the items in the giveaway, they might just entice you :)

Here we go...

I've been meaning to start writing in this blog for a while now. It's been sitting here empty for months, and I decided that a new month was the perfect time to finally get it going.

A couple of weeks ago I came across information about a rather large (roughly 20k visitors) artisan fair and carnival. Everything I read about it made it seem like a great event that's well-established with a good history of being very successful. I've never sold at any large events before, the biggest was the Mom's Night Out at Babies in Bloom about a month ago. That was maybe 200 people, tops. With the encouragement of my awesome husband, I decided to take the plunge and apply to this event. I found out last night that I was accepted. Eek! I'm both excited and nervous, as this is going to be a HUGE undertaking for me. We're upgrading my phone so I can use it to take credit card payments, I have to get more display stuff, and I need a banner. I'm going to have a 10x15 booth space, so I have tons of room that I need to figure out how to utilize well. So, it looks like I'll be at the OMMS Christmas in July Artisan Fair and Carnival in Oceanside, CA July 9th-10th!

Part of me is thinking, oh my gosh, what have I done?! And part of me is thinking this could be a huge push for me towards turning this all into a legitimate business that could consistantly contribute to our household. Hey, if my mom had her own business while I was growing up, why can't I do the same? :)

Meanwhile, I have tons of sewing to do to get some sold items shipped out. I was part of the Cute Stuff Sale on NiceGirlNotes (http://www.nicegirlnotes.com/) this past Sunday, and it was awesome! I've gotten lots of new fabric lately, and really want to get working with it. I have tons of new jewelry stuff to work with, too. Never enough hours in the day, it seems!

This is just a small portion of the new fabric I have. There's sooo much!
